Schedule
This documents allows me to see and track exactly what I must do each week of production. Sticking to this will mean that my project will be completed in time and be of a high standard. Through the use of my free periods at college, I shall be able to complete any elements which I do not complete within the designated class time.

Article Insertion
Having completed my article, I pasted the copy text into my existing double page spread, to see (with the revisions) how the text fitted/ filled the pages, and what adjustments would be required. Due to the now slightly shortened length of the article, the copy text did not fill the pages to their entirety, as I had planned. To combat this, I began with changing the font size, in whole numbers, e.g from 11.00 to 12.00. In doing this, I found that article became too long for the pages by around three paragraphs. To combat this, I reduced the line spacing to 14pt. and adjusted the font accordingly. As entire units were too large when changing my font, I graduated my enlargement from 11.00 by single units, 11.01 - 11.03 - 11.04 etc, until settling on 11.09, which was the ideal size for my article.This has allowed me to have an almost 'finished' article, which can be revised slightly were my time scale to allow it.

'Flick Back and Relax' Article
I completed editing my 'Flick Back and Relax' article, removing some paragraphs and information that was not necessary, meaning that I have been left with a much pithier, concise and intelligent article.
I am now able to continue with my other articles such as my 'D'Arcy Jacques' interview feature and 'Alice' A Look At Svankmajer's epic Stop-Motion Animation.

Call Sheets and Contracts
I completed the writing of my contract today, printing two copies and keeping one myself, giving the other to my model. The document outlined the requirements the model is expected to adhere to, including arriving on time, disciplinary action and a model release form.
It is required that I have the model sign a Model Release form as this entitles the images to be fully mine, meaning that I can do with them as I please, which is of course important when publishing them in a magazine. I also created a call sheet, which outlined the time of the photo shoot and what the model is required to do, in terms of clothing and make-up. Now that these documents are signed, I feel that the model fully understands her role and the strict set of rules she has to adhere to.

Project Management and Monitoring Production - 10/01/2012
Due to starting my production slightly behind schedule, I have not completed the tasks that I had scheduled in for weeks beginning 2nd and 9th of January.
I had intended to complete the following:
I have not been able to begin editing my 'Flick-Back and Relax' article as of yet, and this has now become a priority. The articles are a highly important element within the production of my magazine as the rest of my work revolves around them. I can only create very basic InDesign documents without text, as working out exactly where images and insert quotes will go, depends heavily on the amount of text and how it fits on the page. This has therefore been moved onto this week (beginning the 9th), meaning that I will have some extra work to do, however, through thrifty use of my frees I should be able to complete the article.
The second item on my schedule for Week 1 of production was to;
I had intended to complete the following:

The second item on my schedule for Week 1 of production was to;
Arrange Models and shoots. “In The Spot Light” article requires female model, black back-drop – ‘film star’ clothing. Need a cover image from this.
I have successfully booked my photo-shoot for Friday 27th of January - 3:10 - 4:10 and sourced a model. This shoot will produce photos for my 'D'Arcy Jacques' article, which is an article about a fictional actress. These are the only 'studio' images I will be using in my magazine, and this article is the central focus of my work. Now I have booked my photo shoot, I will be able to distribute my contracts and call sheets, to both my model, and my lighting assistant and photographer. On doing so I will have a brief meeting with the model, in which I will show her some of the exemplar imagery I have sourced.
This was the third item on my schedule:
"Look for example images to influence my shoots for the latter." I had to find images that would inspire my article images, as well as the magazine front cover. Some examples are shown below:
These images (especially the B&W images) will be the main inspiration for my photoshoot, allowing me to reference these when setting up the studio and taking my photographs. I have discussed the images in my 'Photo-Shoot Plans' documents in greater detail.
The final item on my schedule for Week 1 of Production was to plan my visit to the cinema for my article. I had originally intended to visit the 'Star and Shadow Cinema' in Newcastle, which is a real-life independent cinema, however, due to cost I am unable to complete this. I have therefore decided to base my article around the 'Darlington Art Centre Cinema', which shows films weekly and attracts an audience. Thanks to the College's links with the centre, I should find no difficulty in acquiring some photographs and details about the way the film club is ran. I have been unable to completely plan when I will take the photos for this article as I have been advised to speak to the Estate Manager who has been unavailable up to now.
